The Garden of Gethsemane

The moon is incredible tonight. The moon is one of those things that really hits me spiritually when it takes color like this..

I’m often reminded of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.. Matthew 26:36-39 Jesus states his soul is deeply grieved to the point of death.

On these nights I find myself staring up at the moon, often while driving and reflecting on what Jesus must have looked like in that garden, weeping, anguished asking Abba to let this cup pass, but the Fathers will not His.. Ultimately following God’s will not His own.. Knowing that He was so grieved and knowing the pain to come. The suffering that was to come, but still, He chose to follow God‘s will to ultimately save us and to be promised eternity with us.

To imagine Jesus wept, to imagine Jesus felt so many emotions that we often feel, emotions that often make us feel alone or like we’re the only ones enduring this level of pain or discomfort. To be reminded that Jesus experienced these feelings and faced circumstances that were unbearable in the flesh..

I think of suffering that I have walked through or that we may face in the flesh. Knowing we serve a God that truly knows the pain this world can bring, to know anguish, to be hated, to feel people turn their backs on you and to hope for the cup of suffering to be passed from you.. I am reminded that Jesus walked in far worse circumstances than I could even fathom.. That He endured these very horrific conditions for you and me. He endured and overcame!! When we walk through the lowest of valleys, through dark storms and can’t see a way out, remember our Savior overcame the world. In John 16:33 Jesus gives us this beautiful word of encouragement “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

He knows your pain, struggles, brokenness and fears. He sees your heart and knows your every need. He will use these trials for your triumphs! Though the valleys seem never ending know that He is working every thing for your good. These moments will lead to your victory and your testimony.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬

Your victory is coming!!
